A Hockey Sunday

Liam, walking into the Ice House in Hackensack, NJ this morning. He skated as
a forward in his first game. The Pirates won in a shut-out, 3-0. Liam had one assist.

Half dressed and waiting for his second game at Sport-O-Rama in Suffern, NY. He goadtended, as is evident by the pads.

Covering the puck for a save.

Facing-off with a boy from the other team. Liam stopped this puck, but wasn't so lucky three more times against this kid (he was their main goal-scorer.)

Sitting next to his friend Kevin after the game. The Pirates lost by three points this afternoon. Even though they lost, Liam still played a very good game, and made some nice saves. He saw a lot of action today, because the majority of play was in the Pirates zone. Games like this are a great learning experience, and keep the kid on his toes. When we looked down ice, the other goalie was skating around in his zone enjoying himself, without a care in the world.

Livin' the Olympic Spirit in Lake Placid

Our little house for the week.

Liam and Grandma skating on the Olympic Oval.

Grandma, Liam and Tonia on the Olympic Oval.

Liam in a bobsled. He has decided that he wants to be on the USA Bobsled team when he gets big. Poor little guy is almost two inches short to even ride on a bobsled. Hopefully, he will be able to get on the track next year.

Tonia and Liam on a dog sled ride on Mirror Lake in Lake Placid.

Grandpa Tony taught Liam how to play chess. The two of them played a couple games. Liam won the last night...for real.

The first video is of Liam on an easy rail at Whiteface.

The other video is of the USA Women's Bobsled team doing a warm-up run for the World Championships.

Knit, Don't Hit

"Knit, Don't Hit" is what Tonia wanted to put on a t-shirt. Grandpa Tony didn't think that the hockey player would want to wear a shirt that said that.

Officer Liam and Grandma

Officer Liam was at our house on Valentine's Day. Grandma got a ticket for not waiting for her grandson. She was then arrested -- she claims it was a false arrest.
The above picture cracks us up. Note the police car behind mom. The house alarm across the street went off, so the police showed up to check it out. We all thought the timing of it all was very funny.
