Seems like such a long time...

It seems like forever since we've sat down to write a blog. For the last eight days, Tonia has been assisting her teacher, Sri Dharma Mittra, as a Staff Yogi/Mentor for Dharma Yoga Center's 200 hour Teacher Training program. She leaves the house before 6 a.m. and doesn't get home most days until after Bob and Liam have gone to sleep.

Bob has had his hands full taking care of Liam. Who knew it was so much work to get a child feed, dressed and off to school every morning, pick him up after school and then prepare dinner. It is amazing how calmly Bob handles an extremely creative, independent and energetic five-year-old.

Bobby and Liam are having tons of fun doing "guy stuff." They are definitely taking advantage of Mommy not being around and have been enjoying some freedom from having to act like perfect gentlemen all the time. The first night that Tonia was not home for dinner, the boys had soup and decided that it would be fun to slurp, slurp, slurp as loud as possible since Mommy wasn't there to tell them not to. Of course, Liam said, "Mommy, I'm not supposed to tell you, but..."

Last Sunday Bobby and Tonia went to Dutch Springs, a quarry in PA, to scuba dive. Liam stayed home with his babysitter, Kyle (our sister-in-law Sinead's cousin), who took him to a BBQ at his house. When we picked Liam up that afternoon he wasn't completely ready to leave. He had played badminton, hung out with the big kids, was taken for ice cream, got a new Yankees hat, and was able to visit with lots of fun people.

As unusual as it seems, we have only taken a few pictures since Father's Day -- and there isn't one of the little Liamiekins. Don't worry Grandparents, we should be able to get back to our regular picture taking this weekend. Bob after returning from re-filling our tanks.

One Fun Father's Day

We had a wonderful, warm, sunny, fun packed Father's Day. All of us were up very early this morning, so we decided to make the most of the day. We did a little yard work, enjoyed a huge Irish Breakfast, cleaned the pool, swam, lounged, played with the boogie board and surf board, swam some more, read some books, BBQ'd, ate a yummy dinner, did some art work, swam again, and as I write this we are watching "Night At the Museum." We love days like this!Liam and Bobby pruned some trees back so that the new trees can get some light.
Liam had been paddling around on the boogie board and then he started standing up. So, Bob said, "go grab the surf board." We put him on the surf board and he popped up. Our neighbors must think we are nuts, because the three of us took turns paddling around, attempting pop-ups on swell-free water.Tonia and Liam playing in the pool after dinner. After this photo was taken we had a cannonball contest -- jury is still out as to the winner.
Liam's latest work of art titled: Pear Tree
When we finished a roll of paper towels this morning Liam said, "Can I have this? I need it for a project." As for the pears, they were found on one of the branches that was pruned this morning.

Ahoy Mate!

Liam's afternoon lounge wear.

The Graduate

Liam graduated from pre-school yesterday afternoon. They put on a little show for us that was very cute. We couldn't believe how shy Liam was. He is usually the most outgoing in his class, for the show he was the shyest -- absolutely unbelievable.
This is Liam class [from left, Ryan, Sean, Carol (teacher), Frankie, Maura, and Liam.] Maura is Liam's little girlfriend. He told me on Saturday, however, that the next time he gets married he would like to marry Carol because "she is pretty and really nice."

Stylin' Lumberjacks

How many kids do you know who wear Wellies with their swimsuits?
Bob was sharpening a chainsaw and Liam walked up with some wood that he needed cut.
Liam was told that if he cut sticks to fit in the fire, and filled his wagon to the top with them, that he would earn $1. He worked his little butt off for that dollar.

We're Goin' In!

We woke this morning ready to enjoy the pool. Only problem was that it was 62 and cloudy. Bobby had a great idea -- let's practice for our next scuba dive, which is June 24. "Hi Grandma Chris." Liam was on the phone with Grandma Chris in Ireland when this photo was taken.
Bob descending.
Liam enjoying the pool. He wouldn't have lasted very long this morning without the wetsuit.
Bobby chasing Liam.
Tonia swimming around.
The coolest thing happened as we were putting our gear away around 2 o'clock. The sun started to come out and it warmed up to 73. Yippee!! Tonia and Bobby hung by the pool, and Liam headed over to Nicky's house to play.

Just took this photo. Thought it was a neat end of the day shot.

Saturday Night Chillin'

We decided that once we walked in the house today from work, ice skating (Liam's lesson), yoga and a little shopping we wouldn't leave our little nest until it was time for work on Monday. So far we have enjoyed a really good movie, had a great dinner, and hung out by the fire. We have absolutely nothing planned for tomorrow - well besides hanging around the pool, firing up the BBQ and relaxing.

Master Liam has taken to dressing himself -- his style has gotten very skater/surferish as of late. Yes, he prefers to wear the hat backwards and he is wearing vans -- all his own doing, won't let us pick out any cloths for him when we shop.
